Macro Brief:

The Fed hiked rates for the first time in three years, and the dot plot signaled more hikes to come. 25bp, unanimous, to 3.75–4.00%. 16 of 19 FOMC members project at least one more hike this year.

The 10-year briefly touched 5.016%, its highest in over 19 years, and the S&P closed the week at six-week lows once Warsh’s press conference made clear the Fed isn’t done.

Crypto absorbed all of it and didn’t break. A real hike, a hawkish dot plot, ETH’s first ETF outflow since July, a 15% single-week BUIDL redemption — a genuine pile-up of bad-sentiment inputs — and BTC/NQ still closed roughly flat on the week, no structural break. Crypto has now shrugged off several consecutive weeks of hostile macro rather than one lucky week.

Crypto Capital On-Ramp

Total stablecoin supply was essentially flat, −$8.91M (~0%) — capital on the sidelines rather than moving either direction.

BTC and ETH diverged for the first time in a few issues. Bitcoin reserves climbed from ~2.7075M to 2.7267M in lockstep with price recovering from ~$76K to ~$81.3K — coins moving toward exchanges as the market rallied.

Ethereum reserves followed the same path through Sept 18, then plateaued and ticked down even as price kept climbing — holders pulling back once the rally extended, which BTC didn’t show.

ETF flows

Bitcoin ETFs were roughly flat at +$6.1M for the week. Solana ETFs had a strong week at +$60.7M. But Ethereum ETFs posted −$140.9M — the first weekly outflow since July, breaking one of the most consistent bright spots of the past several issues. The regulated bid soured on ETH even as its on-chain picture stayed intact.

Tue, Sept 22 — AVAX’s Helicon mainnet upgrade: shortens minimum validator lockup from 14 days to 48 hours, starts a 90-day taper of minimum rewards from 10% to 7.5%.

Thu, Sept 24 — INJ’s Meridian upgrade: regulated token implementations tied to SEC transfer-agent registration, unified RWA/tokenized-stock perp markets.

Fri–Tue, Sept 25–29 — Balancer’s wind-down vote: pause development, move pools to withdrawals-only, distribute ~$9M of treasury to holders who burn BAL. A major protocol voting on shutdown is rare regardless of outcome.

Sept 29 — HYPE’s largest unlock of the month (14.2M HYPE, ~$1.2–1.3B notional) — though the comparable Sept 6 tranche saw only 0.19% of float actually claimed on-chain.

This Week’s Signal: The Memecoin Money Went Into Oil and Gold

Spot DEX volume fell together on every chain that led August — Robinhood -22.5%, BSC -30.2%, Solana -7.9%, Base -8.1% — and in every case the drawdown sat in the speculative leg, not blue chips and major coins.

On Robinhood, GMGN (-57%) and Pons (-45%) led the decline. On BSC, the Binance Alpha wash-cycle deflated on schedule. Solana’s drop is the corporate-name memecoin frenzy normalizing.

Here’s the part that matters: perp volume grew on all four of those same chains — and the new pairs aren’t crypto.

On Robinhood, Lighter did $2.95B (+17%) on a book still led by BTC and ETH, but with a distinctly TradFi tail: WTI crude, gold, a Nasdaq-100 index market, and an ANTHROPIC pre-IPO perp each printing $13–22M a day, plus a $38M ZEC market. Arcus, the dYdX-team venue built with Robinhood Crypto, grew +52% to $601M.

On Base, Avantis — freshly rebranded to Veranta — jumped +71% to $836M on zero-fee blue-chip and exotic markets (FX, commodities) plus a new “Upside Perps” product that only charges if you win. Solana’s growth came from GMTrade ($7.17B, +21%, running crypto alongside RWA markets) and Jupiter (+29%).

The read: the memecoin churn that left spot didn’t exit the system — it re-levered into perps, increasingly on equity, index, and commodity underlyings rather than tokens. Traders who were flipping corporate-name memecoins a month ago are now taking leveraged positions on crude oil and pre-IPO equity through the same venues.

Separately, three chains grew for three different reasons: Arbitrum (+33%) organically; Uniswap V3 and Pendle flow (Pendle V2 +117%) driven by ETH volatility. Polygon (+75%) almost entirely on one Uniswap V4 stable-stable pool (+422% WoW) — low-fee rotation, not retail. Ink (+46% spot, +36% perps) on its native CLOB, Nado, running 70x the chain’s spot volume.

Project & Protocol Discovery

Token Price Movers - Observations, not trade ideas.

Derive (DRV), +177.7%. Exchange Flows: BTC and ETH pointed in opposite directions

Bitcoin reserves rose toward 2.709M as price fell to a low near $76.5K before a late recovery — coins moving onto exchanges into weakness, a reversal from recent weeks' accumulation.

Ethereum reserves fell from ~14.98M to ~14.80M even as ETH dipped before recovering to ~$2.51K — holders keeping coins through the dip.

ETF flows: Inversion from last week

Spot Bitcoin ETFs posted a −$462.7M outflow, breaking the streak that made BTC’s demand the strongest of 2026 across the prior two weeks. Ethereum ETFs took in +$196.9M the same week. Two weeks ago, BTC led both the on-chain and ETF story; this week, ETH does.

Verdict: ETH kept leaving exchanges and pulled in fresh ETF money — signs holders are keeping it, not preparing to sell. BTC saw the opposite on both counts, plus −$462.7M in ETF outflows. A real reversal from recent weeks.

1C. Week-Ahead Catalysts

Tue, Sept 15, 2:15 pm ET — CLARITY Act cloture vote. The Senate’s first procedural test for crypto market-structure legislation, needing 60 votes. Odds have deteriorated sharply — Galaxy Research now puts the odds of passage in 2026 at around 10%, down from ~20% a month ago. A failed cloture effectively kills the bill for 2026.

Wed, Sept 16, 2:00 pm ET — FOMC decision. A dot-plot meeting, so even a hold carries updated forward guidance. Hike odds sit near 88.5%; press conference follows at 2:30 pm ET.

Individual Stablecoin Flows: yield led hard, even into a hawkish week

USDY (+15.36%) and USYC (+12.87%) posted their strongest weeks in a while, with USDe, USDAI and USD1 growing alongside — the rotation into yield-bearing dollars didn't slow as rates spiked. The real outflow: USDC shed −$587.9M, the board's largest single move, with PYUSD (−5.16%) and BUIDL (−2.89%) also bleeding.

Aave / Sphere Rates: funding ticked up slightly, cooling trend intact

Sphere's borrow (4.57%) and supply (3.51%) held flat. Funding rose 0.13pp to 5.75% — within a multi-week decline from the 7.84% high, not a reversal.

Chain Flows and Comparison

3A. Stablecoin flows by chain

Base and Solana — organic, tokenized-stock driven.

On Aerodrome ($3.01B 7d volume, +2.6%), Coinbase-wrapped stock tokens broke into the top-10 pools — GOOGLc/USDC alone turns over ~$9.8M/day at real fee tiers.

Solana adds a twist: alongside genuine xStocks pairs on Raydium (+115% volume), unbacked “pre-stock” memecoins now dominate PumpSwap’s leaderboard — three separate Anthropic-themed pools alone clear $55–89M/day trading the narrative, not the equity.

BSC — volume without fees. BNB Chain’s growth is the most artificial: one PancakeSwap pool did $1.06B over 7 days — ~17% of Pancake’s entire BSC volume — on a 0.01% fee tier, users wash-cycling through Binance Alpha-listed tokens to farm points. Enormous volume, negligible fee yield, and it disappears the day Binance changes the rules.

Robinhood Chain decelerating, Plasma absorbing the carry trade. Robinhood’s growth slowed from double digits to +0.7% weekly volume as fees normalized off an elevated base. Meanwhile Plasma is the quiet gainer — as USDe borrow costs rise on Ethereum and Monad, loopers are migrating collateral to Plasma, where rates have held stable. Same carry trade, cheaper venue.

Two AI Tokens That Refuse to Bleed

Most AI tokens trade like memecoins with a slide deck — a listing pop, a bleed, a chart that never recovers. Two of them currently don’t: Venice’s VVV printed an all-time high of $29.19 on September 9, up 88% in a month and 24x from its December low, at a $1.09B market cap twenty months after launch. DGrid’s DGAI has held within 10% of its listing-day high for three weeks while turning over a quarter of its market cap daily. The prices hold for almost opposite reasons

Venice’s support is earned.

VVV is the metering system for Venice’s private AI inference: staking 1% of all staked VVV grants a permanent 1% of the network’s daily compute, and staked VVV committed to mint DIEM locks up indefinitely — each DIEM buys $1 of API usage forever.

Product demand converts directly into locked float. On the supply side, Venice buys VVV with platform revenue and burns it: the September 8 discretionary burn was $391K, the largest yet, taking cumulative burns to 41.84% of supply, while annual emissions fall from 14M at launch toward 2M by October — a 1.4% inflation rate against a revenue-funded burn engine. Usage rises, revenue rises, burns rise, supply falls — precisely when demand grows.

DGrid’s support is engineered.

Only 15% of DGAI’s 1B supply circulates; 50% sits on a ten-year vesting schedule for node operators, with team and investor tranches on their own locks. The $113.6M market cap is defended by the absence of unlockable sellers, not by burns. The underlying business is real — $20–23M of H1 revenue on a $5M seed — but that revenue isn’t wired to the token the way Venice’s is. Nothing burns yet, and node rewards will eventually emit.

The risk map follows the mechanism.

VVV’s exposure is revenue dependence — burns are discretionary, so a slow month at Venice shows up in the burn line first, and its $1.84B FDV prices the flywheel continuing. DGAI’s exposure is the other 85% of supply: shareholder-friendly vesting holds beautifully until an unlock or emission event puts pressure on just $2.8M of on-chain liquidity sitting behind $29M in daily volume. Section 4 — Project & Protocol Discovery

4A. Token Price Movers - Observations, not trade ideas.

Renzo (REZ), +51%. Rebranded to Renzo Finance and shipped Renzo Basis, a self-custodial basis trade on Hyperliquid — long spot, short the perp, collect the funding rate. Live for BTC and HYPE. Not a new idea for the team (Renzo previously ran basis vaults with Superstate), but the first time it ships fully onchain — a real pivot, not just a rebrand.

Bedrock (BR), +38.6%. Optimism Splash Phase 2 (Sept 10–24): 25%+ streaming APR on uniBTC/WBTC LPs via Merkl, plus weekly raffles and an escalating VIP tier up to $50K. A well-designed but time-boxed incentive campaign.

Falcon Finance (FF), +19%. Falcon claims it’s approaching $40B in accepted collateral (treasuries, gold, tokenized stocks, credit) backing USDf, via an “El Salvador pipeline” for onboarding more. Self-reported — I couldn’t independently verify either figure.

Cap (CAP), +14.3%. Cap says ~85% of USDC deposits are lent to institutional borrowers, at a 30-day average 5.6% APR for depositors, each loan backed by a funded underwriter. Self-reported but specific.

Raydium (RAY), +13%. Riding Solana’s tokenized-equity wave, not one event: tokenized $GRND did $31M in volume in under 24 hours, ~2x its NYSE volume. Solana’s tokenized-equity supply crossed $684M this week, +47% in three weeks.4B. TVL Gainers ($50M+ filter) — Ranked by absolute $ inflow.

Spot Bitcoin ETFs took $986.9M for the week, the third consecutive strong week and the strongest three-week run of 2026 at $3.8B combined — though BTC ETFs remain roughly $1B net-negative year to date. Ethereum ETF inflows, by contrast, fell about 74% week-over-week to roughly $215–218M. This is the first week this cycle BTC’s regulated bid has clearly outpaced ETH’s, even as ETH keeps winning the on-chain accumulation story.

Verdict: The on-ramp kept refilling and BTC’s ETF demand hit its strongest stretch of the year. On exchanges, bitcoin gave the cleaner signal — reserves fell specifically as price recovered, coins leaving into strength. Ether kept accumulating too, but paper demand this week favored BTC while on-chain accumulation held for both. First time this cycle BTC has led on both the regulated and the on-chain side at once.

Rates and Risk

Stablecoin flows: USDC led, a reversal from two weeks ago. USDC added $778.6M (+1.05%), 2.3x the next name. USDY (+15.28%), USDe (+7.12%) and USYC (+7.3%) kept leading on percentage without draining the majors this time.

Funding: third straight week of cooling. Sphere’s borrow (5.08%) and supply (4.04%) held flat; the funding benchmark eased to 6.23% from the 7.84% quarter-high two weeks ago — the leverage from the early-September squeeze is unwinding.

ETHBTC: holding, not extending. The ratio sits on its flattened 20-week MA — the July reclaim is holding.

Verdict: Capital arriving broadly, leverage cooling steadily, ETHBTC holding its ground. A calm regime underneath an eventful week.

This Week’s Signal: The Meme-Stock Loop Just Moved a Real Ticker

On September 2, Farmmi Inc. — a mushroom producer trading at twenty cents, fresh off a Nasdaq delisting warning — rose 71% in a session on sixteen times its average volume. Nothing happened at the company.

Traders on Robinhood Chain found “Jinqian” (”money mushroom”) in Farmmi’s own filings, launched a meme coin, and paired it against tokenized FAMI. The meme pumped, screenshots went viral, penny-stock buyers finished the job. Memecoin to tokenized stock to actual equity — the week’s defining trade.

Robinhood Chain has printed three consecutive record weeks of DEX volume: $3.47B, $6.40B, then $11.43B for August 31 – September 6, with $18.6M of app fees in the last 24 hours and stablecoins up 25.4% to $964.6M.

Of 216 listed tokenized stocks, 27 now have verified meme pairs across 22 tickers, with stock-linked pools trading above $115M a day; MOO alone does roughly a quarter of all tokenized-Micron volume.

The pattern is exporting to BNB Chain, which did $9.34B of volume the same week (+32%), with BEN pairing against tokenized QQQ in a $37M-a-day pool.

The dynamics: a lottery ticket that settles in stock

A Robinhood stock token is an ERC-20 tracking the real share, minted 1:1 only by KYB'd market makers buying on the NYSE — so minting only works while the market's open, and the on-chain float is frozen at Friday's close.

BONER pairs against HIMS, not a stablecoin: every buy routes through the stock token first, locking it into the meme's pool and shrinking the float. The stock gives the meme a story; the meme gives the stock a reason to trade.

Off-hours, nobody can mint, so meme demand pulls stock tokens into LPs against that frozen float, and the tokenized price balloons above Friday's close — AMC and HIMS both did this. Monday's open resets it flat, and meme holders lose in dollars even when the ratio held. The professional trade runs the other way: LP the stock against USDG over weekends, collecting the spread while degens chase the next thousand-x.

For liquid names this stays noise

SAYLORMOON doesn’t move MicroStrategy. For small caps, the transmission is real: FAMI’s meme drove sixteen times normal volume in the actual listing, though the stock still needs ten sessions above $1 to survive delisting risk. The constraint is now visible: Aave's USDe reserve sits at 99.8% of its supply cap ($374M against a $375M ceiling) at 4.00% APY, so incremental loop demand has nowhere to go until governance raises it. Borrowing USDT0 at 3.57% against a 4.00–4.75% USDe leg, levered ~10x at 90% e-mode LTV, is what put Plasma over $1B — arithmetic, not user growth.

Robinhood Chain — +$62.2M (+8.7%), to $774.7M.

The same carry in Morpho form: the 91.5% LLTV USDG/USDe market holds $318.5M of collateral at 90.4% utilization, and that market’s collateral rose ~$33M on the week. A second collateral arrived Aug 26 — Steakhouse onboarded Midas’s mGLO, a tokenized claim on Fasanara’s diversified SME-credit strategy, leveraging private-credit yield into USDG on the same terms as USDe.

Structural Shift: The 5th-Largest DEX Nobody Chose

Metric traded $1.61B over seven days and $6.28B over thirty, triple the previous month’s $2.06B. Daily volume has held between $186M and $290M since August 18, suggesting an established run-rate rather than a short-lived incentive spike.

BSC drove the thirty-day total at $2.95B, but current growth is coming from Base (+124% week over week) and Robinhood Chain (+220%). Metric is now Robinhood’s fourth-largest venue, behind three Uniswap deployments, despite the chain launching only July 1.

Metric reports roughly 45% of HyperEVM volume, 35% of Monad volume, and 40% of Base WETH/USDC and cbBTC/USDC aggregator flow. These figures are company-stated, but the broader data confirms that volume is concentrated on major chains.

1) This Week’s Signal: The Rotation Into Yield Went Fully Clean

For three weeks the dollars entering crypto have preferred yield over settlement. Every stablecoin that gained was yield-bearing or treasury-backed, and every meaningful loser was a plain settlement dollar.

USYC (+$391M) and USDY (+$311M) topped the board for the third straight week, with RLUSD (+$132M), EURC (+$87.9M) and USDe (+$34.2M) behind them. On the other side, the three largest deployment dollars all shrank: USDC led all outflows at −$399.6M, with USDS (−$289M) and USDT (−$227.8M) following.

USDC is the tell. It grew $338.6M last week and is the single largest loser this week — a hard reversal for the main deployment dollar, in the same week ETF flows turned red. This isn’t capital favoring yield at the margin. It’s capital actively leaving the settlement layer for instruments that pay.

The reason is structural, not a one-week mood. Since the GENIUS Act barred payment-stablecoin issuers from paying yield, large holders have no reason to park idle balances in non-yielding USDC or USDT when tokenized treasuries return 4%+. The same rotation shows up on-chain in the ONyc stack below, where reinsurance- and RWA-backed collateral is being levered rather than just held — and it’s the same fight now holding up the CLARITY Act in the Senate. The regulation and the flow are one story.

Ethereum ETFs held roughly flat near zero — no longer adding at the prior weeks' pace, but not bleeding the way bitcoin did. The regulated bid didn't rotate toward ETH so much as it rotated away from BTC, and ETH was the one that didn't crack — the same relative-strength pattern the exchange reserves show below.

Centralized Exchange Flows: The BTC/ETH divergence widened.

Bitcoin reserves climbed to ~2.735M as the price fell to ~$63.3K; Ethereum reserves continued to fall to 15.1M as ETH left exchanges. Off-exchange accumulation is the constructive read, and it’s been ETH’s for a month.

On the bitcoin side, rising reserves normally signal selling — but three hardware wallet scares in a month (Coldcard, Trezor, SafePal) may be pushing coins onto exchanges for custody reasons rather than for sale.

ETH to BTC Comparison: Holding the Reclaim

The ratio closed above its flattened 20-week average again; the reclaim from July is now holding roughly six weeks — consistent with ether continuing to leave exchanges.

Macro in 3 Lines

• Liquidity: net liquidity slipped 0.75% back below its 20-week average — the one macro gauge that actually moved.

• The print: cool July CPI (3.4% headline, 2.5% core) cut September hike odds to ~34% and sent the S&P and Russell 2000 to records — but bitcoin closed lower and lost ground even to gold, the fifth straight week a risk-on tailwind skipped crypto.

• Watch this week: Wednesday’s FOMC minutes are the main catalyst — a hawkish read revives hike risk. Treasury’s promised “unprecedented” Iran sanctions land the same week and could firm oil.

3) Chain Flows: Incentivized Loops Are Doing the Heavy Lifting

Monad — $715.2M (+$54.0M 7d, +$152.2M 30d)

Cheap borrows against yield-bearing collateral. Aave ($660M market) anchors it, with Maple's syrupUSDC ($198M, collateral-only) as the base of the loop; Merkl incentives keep borrow costs at 3.4–3.9%, making the carry against syrupUSDC's native yield profitable. That pulled in the week's biggest single inflow, USDT.

Robinhood Chain — $640.1M (+$57.9M 7d, +$244.1M 30d)

Largest absolute gainer, with both sides of the loop now paid. USDe (+$34.3M) outgrew USDG (+$22.1M) because Ethena now pays 4.5% for posting USDe as collateral, on top of the Steakhouse vault’s 7% on USDG — so users are incentivized to supply and to lever. Lighter’s perp platform (+$20.7M) added a genuinely different demand source, taking tokenized stocks like SPY as collateral.

Morph — Exchange-Wallet Distribution Keeps Compounding a Small Base

Stablecoin market cap: $35.4M | +$4.9M (7d) | +$20.5M (30d)

Morph remains the smallest chain in the cohort and the most concentrated: every dollar of growth is USDC, with USDT flat at $7.1M. The chain’s stablecoin base has more than doubled over 30 days on a single distribution channel. This week’s increment came from Bitget Wallet launching a USDC Earn Vault with Morpho on August 11, paying up to 10% APY with one-tap subscription, no minimum period, and anytime withdrawal (Bitget Wallet, August 11); Morph amplified the launch as the ecosystem’s default home for idle USDC (Morph, August 11).

The pattern is consistent with the Gauntlet vault launch that drove the prior month’s growth — Morph is compounding through one retail funnel rather than diversifying its depositor base, so the pace should continue to track Bitget distribution and the incentive budget behind it.

4) Structural Shifts: Fomo Is Eating Share in a Shrinking Market

fomo is the fastest-growing trading front end in crypto, and it is growing in a shrinking market. Solana swap volume rose from ~$8M/day in early June to $48.5M on 13 August (~4.5x) while Solana DEX volume fell ~30%; weekly fees hit a record $3.2M.

Pump.fun is still an order of magnitude larger (PumpSwap ~42% of Solana DEX volume; $34M launchpad fees) but flat since June, and is now copying fomo’s feed and reportedly paying its top traders to switch. fomo’s growth is real and clean (no token, no incentives) but rests on a KOL migration wave, small tickets paying 1-2% effective fees, and a live memecoin cycle. Volume was back to $23.6M by 15 August.

What’s driving Fomo’s growth:

Three inflections: late June (after perps and the Series B); 4-5 August (to $44M/day, ‘the largest influx of users to date’ per the co-founder); the 13 August peak, then a slide. Drivers, by strength of evidence: KOL crews moving audiences into the in-app follow graph (Dune daily traders 19.9K to 49.5K in four weeks); product cadence; Robinhood Chain and BSC memecoin cycles; airdrop expectation.

fomo is not riding a memecoin tide: Solana DEX volume is down 26% month-on-month while fomo’s share went from 0.3% to 3.0%, taken from terminals and wallets.

Why it is succeeding

Distribution moved inside the venue: follow graph, P&L card and copy button are one surface. Pump.fun’s 7 August feed is an explicit copy.

The customer is the small-ticket retail trader, and the fees are built for it: an audit of 467,867 Solana fee transactions found 89% of trades under $190, paying 54% of fees. Take is ~1.35% of volume, several times a terminal, viable because this user is not fee-sensitive.

Pump.fun wins on scale (fees 3x, volume ~20x, a token that owns the cash flow); fomo wins on growth (volume 4.5x vs 1.1x, weekly fees 6x vs 1.6x since June). The audit cleared fomo of front-running, wash trading and sandwiching but confirmed fees above the advertised rate (median 1.90%) and poor fills on ~1 in 7 trades. Pump.fun’s response - a leaked $20K sign-on plus $30K/month exclusivity offer to fomo’s top traders (unconfirmed) and a zero-fee terminal - targets the KOL graph that drove August.

Will it continue?

Only if the KOL cohort stays despite Pump.fun’s payments, small-ticket users tolerate a now-legible fee schedule, memecoin volume holds, and execution improves. Watch: daily Solana volume vs the July $15-25M band; Dune weekly volume vs $553M and daily traders vs 49.5K; share of Solana DEX volume vs 3.0%; named-trader migrations.

For DeFi users: a distribution and revenue signal and a possible token, not a venue - sub-$200 Solana trades are among the most expensive routes available; Pump.fun is cheaper for the same trades.

5) Project & Protocol Discovery

Token Movers Spotlight

Bedrock (BR) — The visible catalyst doesn’t match the move: OP rewards were renewed on the uniBTC/USDC Morpho market (Aug 13), and Bedrock’s Alpha Selini vault hit 96% capacity. An incentive top-up rarely explains a 59% swing on its own, so the price appears to be ahead of the identified catalyst.

Cap (CAP) — The clearest case. USD deposits crossed $100M (+87% on the month), lifting total capital to $340M (Aug 13), alongside a published private-credit thesis for stcUSD. Three straight weeks of gains on sustained institutional deposits — fundamentals, not a re-rating.

Ether.fi (ETHFI). Launched its crypto neobank (Aug 13): tokenized stocks and metals, portfolio borrowing via a dedicated Aave V4 instance, and ETHFI buybacks funded from every revenue line. Cash is now ~65% of revenue on ~$100M July card spend. A product launch plus programmatic buybacks — a genuine re-rating.

f(x) Protocol (FXN) — Funding on f(x)’s leveraged BTC/ETH positions dropped to zero (Aug 13) versus ~9-11% on Aave, with no liquidations despite volatility — a real, specific edge that looks more attractive against this week’s broader funding-rate spike elsewhere.

Unitas (UP) — Binance Wallet’s Booster Earn S3 (Aug 13) — deposit XAUt, share $200K in UP over 60 days — plus a Tether Gold push. Fits the gold-yield rotation; the move is proportionate to a fresh reward pool on a low-float token, not a fundamentals shift.

Crypto and equity comparison - BTC/NQ ratio

Bitcoin closed the week roughly flat while equities rallied hard, so the ratio fell again. This is the fourth straight week a risk-on catalyst has bypassed crypto: price didn’t drop; it simply held still through a move that lifted everything around it.

One number drove the week:

July payrolls fell 23,000 against a forecast of an 80,000 gain — the first monthly loss since February — with May and June revised down a combined 103,000, dropping the three-month average to about 20,000. The unemployment rate ticked to 4.1%, but because workers left the labor force.

Everything else followed from that print: net liquidity steadied at its 20-week average (+$14.53B), the 2-year yield slipped to 4.19% as September hike odds fell to ~42%, the dollar eased beneath its 20-week average, and equities read the weakness as good news — the S&P rose 3.6% to a record, the Nasdaq 5.2%. Bitcoin closed flat.

Verdict: A cracking labor market pulled yields and the dollar lower and sent equities to record highs on Fed-pause hopes — a clean risk-on week by every traditional measure. Bitcoin closed flat and lost ground on a relative basis.

1B. Crypto Capital On-Ramp

Total stablecoin supply + $879M(+0.29%)

The first weekly expansion after a two-month contraction that ran roughly $13.8B off the total. The outflows stopped the same week ETF flows turned and net liquidity steadied.

BTC and ETH Exchange Flows

Exchange reserves: BTC up, ETH still leaving. Bitcoin reserves rose to 2.718M as price recovered from ~$62.5K to $65.1K — coins moving toward exchanges as bids returned, the less constructive read.

Ethereum reserves fell to 15.12M while price rose to ~$1,924, holding below the 21-day EMA all month. The divergence flagged last week widened: ETH left exchanges as it climbed, BTC arrived on them.

ETF flows

ETF flows: strongest week since April. Spot Bitcoin ETFs drew $853.5M with inflows every session — more than the previous four weeks combined and a ~$915M swing from the prior week’s outflow.

Ethereum ETFs added ~$244M, a fifth straight positive week that reversed last issue’s deceleration, back to nine figures from under $30M. BlackRock’s IBIT and ETHA supplied about $896M of the combined $1.1B.

1C. Week-Ahead Catalysts

Wed, Aug 12 — July CPI. The dominant release; the first inflation read since the jobs miss reset the rate debate. A soft print cements the pause that drove last week’s records, a hot one revives the hike case.

Section 2 — Onchain Risk Regime

Individual Stablecoins Flows: the rotation into yield is now a weekly event

The two largest dollar gainers were both tokenized-treasury products — USYC (+$398.7M, +13.26%) and USDY (+$291.3M, +13.54%) — each growing double digits in a single week, joined by USDG (+17.85% over 30d) and GHO (+16.47% over 30d).

USDC grew $338.6M but only +0.47%, a function of size, not momentum. Against that, USDT — 60.88% of all supply — shrank $238.3M. Total supply expanded even as its largest component leaked: the entire net gain came from USDC and the yield-bearing names.

Aave / Sphere Rates : Funding Cooled, Credit Flat

Sphere’s borrow (4.21%) and supply (3.26%) APYs held. The funding benchmark fell 0.12pp to 4.58%, compressing the spread over borrow to 0.37pp from 1.87pp last week — the crowded-long premium from last issue came off sharply.

ETH/BTC Comparison Chart

The ratio closed above its 20-week average, which is levelling off after declining since February — the July reclaim has now held over a month, matching the exchange-reserve divergence above.

3A. Stablecoin flows by chain

Robinhood Chain — Retail USDG Deposits Are Funding a Cheap USDe Loop

Stablecoin market cap: $582.5M | +$47.7M (7d) | +$282.8M (30d)

Robinhood Chain’s stablecoin base has nearly doubled in a month, and this week’s growth is led by USDe (+$39.0M to $253.4M) ahead of USDG (+$8.6M to $329.0M). The engine is Robinhood Earn, which surpassed $250M in USDG vault deposits just over one month after launch (Robinhood, August 7). Those deposits flow into the Steakhouse USDG vault on Morpho, where a Merkl campaign pays approximately 7% APR — 3.09% protocol yield plus 3.91% rewards, with 325 days of budget remaining (Merkl).

Supply arriving this fast keeps USDG borrowing cheap — 3.58% against USDe, 4.06% against syrupUSDG, and 2.75% against spUSDG, at 91.50% LLTV (Morpho markets) — making loops on all three collaterals attractive. $225.9M of USDG is drawn against USDe alone. That loop demand is what pulls USDe onto the chain, while the Earn program keeps replenishing the USDG that funds it.

Monad — Ethena’s Liquid Leverage Boost Tops Up the Incentive Stack

Monad’s headline growth understates roughly $100M of gross inflows into GHO (+$52.7M), USDe (+$36.9M), and USDC (+$7.5M), offset by rotation out of USDT (−$30.0M) and AUSD (−$28.6M). The base driver is the ongoing Aave incentive program, paying roughly 5.4–6% supply rewards across the major stablecoins via Merkl (Merkl) and carrying Aave past $500M in deposits on the chain (Aave, August 4). On August 5, Ethena added a 1% boost over the 4% base promotional rate for USDe collateralized on Aave — 5% APY in total, capped at $250M of USDe, and the highest Liquid Leverage rate on any chain (Ethena, August 5).

The boost is pulling in fresh USDe: from near zero a month ago to $49.2M today, $36.9M of it this week. GHO, the week’s largest contributor, is the borrow leg of the same trade — its circulation scales with borrowing on Aave’s Monad deployment and carries its own 5.81% supply reward.

Morph — Up 50% Week-Over-Week on USDC Alone

Morph is the smallest base but the fastest in relative terms, up roughly 50% week-over-week — entirely in USDC (+$10.2M to $23.4M; USDT flat at $7.1M).

The incentive program is still attracting new deposits at pace, and the concentration in USDC points to the destination: Gauntlet’s curated vaults went live on Morph on July 31, led by Gauntlet USDC Prime on Morpho, distributed to more than 125 million users through Bitget and Bitget Wallet (Gauntlet, July 31). Growth here should track the incentive budget and the Bitget funnel until the deposit base diversifies.

3B. Structural Shifts- Onchain Activity

Base vs Robinhood Chain: Who Is Taking What From Whom

Robinhood Chain is competing with Base for users and trading flow — not for capital. Five weeks after its July 1 mainnet launch, it has flipped Base in daily active users and printed $17.7B in 30-day DEX volume — 87% of Base’s $20.4B, and ahead of Base on many individual days. On every capital metric, however, Base is roughly ten times larger and did not shrink during the ramp: Base TVL rose 14% between July 1 and August 10 to $4.68B, its stablecoins held at $4.9B, and Morpho on Base crossed $5B in deposits.

Base’s slowdown is real, but it predates Robinhood: users have faded since the mid-2025 content-coin collapse, and TVL peaked in November 2025. The chain that actually paid for Robinhood’s rise is Arbitrum (−58% TVL YTD), which hosted — then lost — the stock-token franchise. Coinbase is still acting like the threat is real: a 7.02% USDC vault launched days after Robinhood’s 7% Earn campaign, and tokenized equities are now “imminent” on Base.

Head-to-Head Snapshot

TVL: No Cannibalization — the Donor Is Arbitrum

Base added roughly $560M of TVL during the exact five weeks Robinhood Chain built its first $479M — Robinhood’s capital came from Ethena bridge inflows and Paxos USDG minting, not Base outflows. Both chains run on the same credit engine: Morpho is 70% of Base’s TVL and, with Spark, 73% of Robinhood’s — expansion, not migration.

Robinhood’s version is a subsidized carry trade: Robinhood Earn pays ~7% on USDG via Steakhouse-curated Morpho vaults, borrowed at 86% utilization against USDe, syrupUSDG, and spUSDG collateral. Note DefiLlama excludes Robinhood’s tokenized stocks (~$30M) from chain TVL — the headline number is a stablecoin-lending number.

Stablecoins: A Two-Coin Carry Trade vs a $4.8B USDC Base

The stablecoin picture is the loop made visible: exactly two assets, with bridged Ethena USDe supplying 69% of the growth as the collateral leg to USDG’s borrowable leg — durable only as long as the subsidy and Ethena’s basis yield. Base’s $4.9B barely moved (+0.6% 30d), but its fastest-growing component is the same asset: USDe +44% in 30 days, pulled in by Coinbase’s rival vault. Ethena is supplying yield to both sides of this fight.

DEX and Perp Volume: The One Front Where Robinhood Actually Took Share

Volume is where competition has teeth: Robinhood reached parity in three weeks, passed Base in the week of July 20–26, and now regularly outranks it on 24-hour windows, while Base’s weekly volume fell 37% from its June average.

But July’s combined volume ($39B) exceeded June’s ($32B) — Robinhood grew the pie as much as it took share — and the flow it captured is ~75% memecoins (GMGN alone routed $1.45B in 30 days), the same low-loyalty churn Base already lost with its meme era. Base’s remaining flow is majors-led: cbBTC/WETH/USDC pools, Aerodrome at 52%. In perps, Base leads $5.93B to $701M over 30 days.

RWA and Tokenized Stocks: Big Narrative, Small Numbers — For Now

The category both companies are actually fighting over barely exists on either chain. Robinhood’s stock tokens sum to $28M — 1.2% of a $2.37B market led by Ondo, Binance’s bStocks, and Backed’s xStocks — and contribute ~9% of chain volume (~$30M/day); July’s “RWAs up 5x” headlines were mostly Maple syrupUSDG inflows. Base has none live, but Coinbase’s 1:1 share-backed product with dividend pass-through would out-spec Robinhood’s MiFID derivative wrappers the day it ships. The next two quarters decide whether Robinhood’s meme-and-subsidy traction converts into durable capital once the 7% program sunsets — and whether Base’s equity launch restarts its user growth. Today’s scoreboard: Base keeps the capital, Robinhood took the crowd, and tokenized equities are 99% up for grabs.

Section 4 — Project & Protocol Discovery

4A. Token Price Movers - Observations, not trade ideas.

CAP (+80%): USD deposits rose 68.59% since July 14, which Cap credits to institutions and neobanks depositing for yield. Both sides of the credit engine expanded through July: Aave listed stcUSD on MegaETH’s v3, and Flow Traders opened a credit line — diversifying the borrower base.

CVX (+29%), CRV (+18.9%), and RSUP(+18%)
The Curve complex moved together on Resupply Summer, a cross-protocol incentive campaign launched August 3 routing months of rewards through Curve’s Llamalend V2 markets, with Convex, Frax and Inverse all participating. Proposal 33 on August 5 raised RSUP borrowing rewards 33%. CVX has no standalone yield mechanism — it tracks Curve’s fee and TVL activity — so it moved with the ecosystem rather than on its own news.

PUMP (+37.8%). No identified catalyst this week; the move reads as continuation of the undervalued-versus-fees re-rating.

LISTA (+27.7%). Recurring, not new — same tokenized-equity collateral expansion and weekly buybacks as last week. Momentum, not a fresh catalyst.

4B. TVL Gainers — Ranked by absolute $ inflow.

Cap — Institutional Deposits, Reinforced by a Senior-Tranche Borrowing Layer

Cap’s growth is being driven by institutional deposit demand. cUSD deposits have risen 68.59% since July 14, which Cap credits to institutions and neobanks depositing into the protocol to fulfill their yield requirements (Cap, August 7). Both sides of the credit engine expanded through July: Aave listed stcUSD on MegaETH’s v3 instance, and Flow Traders began accessing a credit line through Cap — a diversification of the borrower and underwriting base that gives institutional depositors more places for their capital to earn.

A second, reinforcing driver is the borrowing layer forming on top of Cap’s senior tranche. TermMax allows users to borrow up to 500,000 USDC against Royco’s stcUSD senior tranche at 3% APY (TermMax, August 6), and Royco highlights that borrowing against Cap’s and Maple’s senior tranches is now cheaper than ever, improving capital efficiency (Royco, August 7). Holders of stcUSD can now access cheap liquidity without exiting their position, which makes the deposit base stickier and supports continued inflows. Cap’s institutional trajectory has independent support: the protocol is backed by Franklin Templeton and Susquehanna, has raised more than $63M, and its approved reserve assets include WisdomTree’s WTGXX, BlackRock’s BUIDL, and Franklin Templeton’s BENJI.

DeFi Token Price Movers - Observations, not trade ideas.

Cap (CAP). No clear catalyst emerged this week. The move appears to be a continued recovery from July’s Stabledrop controversy, which reduced rewards and excluded several participant groups. At a roughly $44M market cap, the price action looks more like a repricing than a reaction to new developments.

Turtle (TURTLE). Turtle directs deposits into a third-party delta-neutral vault advertising 10–20% APY on USDT and USDC with a 30-day lockup. The yield claims have not been independently verified. With a $6.8M market cap and around $1.1M daily volume, liquidity remains a key consideration.

Ethena (ENA). USDe expanded to Robinhood Chain and Monad, assets on Robinhood Chain surpassed $200M, and the Coinbase USDe vault exceeded $250M. Ethena also removed mint/redeem fees for eligible users and reported over $750M in cumulative rewards generated since launch.

Lista DAO (LISTA). Lista expanded support for tokenized-equity collateral and continued weekly LISTA buybacks.

Pump.fun (PUMP). No confirmed catalyst emerged during the week. Features often cited as drivers, including the USDC trading pair and multichain expansion, launched earlier in 2026. The move appears to reflect a market re-rating rather than a specific new development.

1A. Traditional Macro

Liquidity contracted for the 2nd consecutive week.

FRED:WALCL-(FRED:RRPONTSYD+FRED:WTREGEN)

The driver is scheduled- Treasury estimated $671 billion of privately held net marketable borrowing for July–September, assuming a $950 billion end-September TGA balance. Every dollar into the TGA drains reserves one-for-one, so this isn’t a market-driven wobble — it’s a funding calendar. The drain has weeks left to run regardless of what happens at the September meeting.

BTC/NQ ratio - Equities and bitcoin split on the week.

Bitcoin traded down as the hawkish Fed hold met the September hike debate. That evening, an attacker drained roughly 594 BTC from around 500 wallets in a 25-minute sweep, all secured by Coldcard devices whose firmware had bypassed its own random number generator since March 2021.

Big Tech earnings did the rest, with the four hyperscalers guiding to $720–745 billion of 2026 capital spending. By Friday the premium was rebuilding: Brent recovered above $88 after fresh US strikes on Iranian targets. Equities held their gains, yet Bitcoin struggled from crypto-native issues

Brent and WTI each fell more than 7% on Monday, July 27, after the US paused strikes on Iran and Tehran said it had halted retaliatory action — a de-escalation that cut the inflation input equities had been pricing.

1B. Crypto Capital On-Ramp

Total stablecoin supply 7d change (WoW)

Stablecoins lost $2.788B is the largest weekly contraction since June 8 (−$3.654B), and the run since June 1 totals roughly −$13.8B across ten weeks with only three positive prints.

Compare February through May: almost every week positive, including +$3.5B and +$2.9B in March. The on-ramp flipped from expansion to contraction in June, and this week is the sharpest leg of it.

BTC and ETH Exchange Flows

Bitcoin exchange reserves reversed higher, rising roughly 14,800 BTC from their July 28 low to 2.717M BTC and moving back above the 21-day EMA after a month-long decline. The move coincided with the Coldcard exploit, which has reportedly drained 1,367 BTC (~$89M) from more than 4,500 addresses through a firmware vulnerability affecting wallet seed generation.

The reserve increase is typically interpreted as rising sell-side pressure. However, the Coldcard incident may be distorting the signal, as some holders could be moving funds onto exchanges or into alternative custody solutions to reduce self-custody risk rather than to sell. The result is a near-term rise in exchange balances, but with less certainty than usual about how much represents actual liquidation intent.

Ethereum reserves moved the other way, falling from 15.55M on July 5 to 15.08M — roughly 470k ETH, near $870M — in a continuous month-long decline.

ETF flows

Spot Bitcoin ETFs recorded $61.53M in net outflows for the week while Ethereum ETFs added $10M, extending ETH’s streak to four weeks. Weekly ETH inflows have decelerated from $105M in mid-July and $103.9M the following week to under $30M.

1C. Week-Ahead Catalysts

Monday, Aug 3, 3:00pm ET — Treasury financing estimates.
Updates the Q3 borrowing figure and the end-September TGA target. Higher targets mean a deeper reserve drain than the $671B already flagged.

Wednesday, Aug 5, 8:30am ET — Quarterly Refunding Announcement.
Most relevant release for onchain liquidity. A bills-heavy mix routes the borrowing through money market funds and leaves bank reserves largely intact. A coupon-heavy mix drains them. Bill supply also competes directly with stablecoin issuers, who are among the largest T-bill buyers, so the outcome feeds straight back into the supply contraction in 1B.

Section 2 — Onchain Risk Regime

Individual Stablecoins Flows

USDC fell $1.49B (−2.03%) and USDT fell $1.07B (−0.58%), together accounting for 91% of the week’s $2.84B contraction. Both figures exceed their own 30-day declines, meaning each was flat to higher through late July before reversing in a single week. USDC fell at 3.5x USDT’s percentage rate: deployment capital left faster than parked capital.

Behind them, USD1 shed $137M (−3.32%), RLUSD $120M (−7.58%), USDe $99M (−2.48%), and USDS $79M (−1.20%). USDS is down 16.11% over 30 days and USDe 12.76%.

The gainers ran the other way, all yield-bearing or treasury-backed. USDG added $121M (+3.74%, +16.91% over 30d), BUIDL $49M (+1.85%, +19.79%), AUSD $34M (+15.04%, +38.17%), and USDGO $5M (+27.70% over 30d).

Aave / Sphere Rates

Sphere’s 1W average stablecoin borrow APY held at 4.15% and supply APY at 3.18%. The funding benchmark rose 0.13pp to 6.02%, widening the spread over borrow to 1.87pp. Traders paid more to hold leveraged perp exposure while the cost and yield of onchain credit stayed still.

Verdict: Dollar liquidity left the two largest stablecoins at the fastest weekly pace of the quarter and rotated into treasury-backed tokens paying more than onchain lending. Perp funding rose while borrow rates stood still.

Section 3 — Chain Comparison

3A. Stablecoin flows by chain

Monad: +$72M (+12%) to $629.5M

Monad recorded the most meaningful stablecoin inflow this week, extending a trend driven by Aave V3’s July launch and ongoing incentive programs. Incentives remain heavily concentrated on stablecoin lending rather than ETH, supporting strategies such as syrupUSDC carry trades and Ethena leverage loops.

The key distinction is that a meaningful portion of capital has also flowed into Valos’ RWA-backed lending product, now the chain’s largest incentivized pool, making part of the inflow more durable than a typical yield farm.

Robinhood Chain: +$53.6M (+14%) to $535M

Stablecoin growth continues to be driven by Robinhood Earn, which pays up to 7% on USDG and routes deposits into Morpho vaults.

The data shows that capital is primarily being deployed into yield-bearing stablecoins such as USDe, syrupUSDG, and spUSDG, while tokenized equities remain negligible. The dominant trade remains stablecoin looping, with retail deposits supplying funding and leveraged users capturing the spread.

Mantle: +$50.9M (+9.87%) to $578M

Mantle’s weekly inflow accounted for almost all of its monthly growth. The inflow reflects a combination of expanding RWA activity and Aave incentive programs.

Notably, one of the main reward programs specifically targets leveraged positions rather than passive lenders, helping sustain demand for stablecoin borrowing and leverage loops. The result is a stablecoin inflow supported by both long-term RWA growth and shorter-term incentive-driven activity.

3B. Structural Shifts from Onchain Activity

Uniswap: Fee Growth, Fee Switch, and Market Share Gains

UNI is up 26.5% over the past 30 days, driven by three factors: accelerating fee growth, the July 27 fee-switch expansion, and rising DEX market share. Uniswap generated $96.3M in 30-day fees (+133.5%) while major competitors saw fee declines.

Combined V3/V4 market share increased from 35.4% in December to 53.8%, making Uniswap the dominant DEX by volume.

Driver one: the fee inflection

Fee growth remains the core driver. Uniswap processed $52B in 30-day volume, with Robinhood Chain emerging as the main growth engine. Despite holding only a fraction of Ethereum's TVL, Robinhood Chain generated the majority of protocol fees thanks to higher-fee assets such as tokenized equities, USDG pairs, and memecoins.

Driver two: the switch — fees become revenue

The fee switch is a phased program. UNIfication passed 25 December 2025 — 100M UNI burned, Ethereum’s switch live — and five chains followed by June 2026.

The July expansion completed Proposals 100 (v4 fees) and 99 (Robinhood Chain) passed near-unanimously and went live 27 July, directing one-sixth of swap fees to TokenJar contracts claimable only by burning UNI

Driver two: the switch — fees become revenue

Market share continues to consolidate. Uniswap's gains came largely at the expense of Curve, PancakeSwap, and smaller DEXs, while Robinhood Chain remains heavily dependent on Uniswap, which processes over 96% of the chain's DEX volume. This concentration has been a major contributor to recent fee growth.

Driver three: consolidation

Market share continues to consolidate. Uniswap's gains came largely at the expense of Curve, PancakeSwap, and smaller DEXs, while Robinhood Chain remains heavily dependent on Uniswap, which processes over 96% of the chain's DEX volume. This concentration has been a major contributor to recent fee growth.

Valuation: cheapest on fees

Valuation remains the key bull argument. UNI trades at roughly 2.2× annualized fees, the lowest multiple among major DEX tokens despite being the only platform delivering meaningful fee growth. The investment case depends on whether post-switch revenue can remain above current levels rather than reverting toward pre-expansion averages.

Catalysts to monitor: daily protocol revenue after the fee-switch rollout, Robinhood Chain trading activity, LP migration between v3 and v4 pools, Uniswap’s market-share trend, and the sustainability of fee generation from Robinhood Chain.

1A. Traditional Macro

Oil round-tripped a war scare, and that whipsawed rates. Through last week, renewed US-Iran strikes and Houthi tanker attacks pushed Brent above $100 intraweek — its highest since the June peace deal — dragging the 2-year to ~4.33% and the 10-year near a 2026 peak as an energy-driven inflation scare took hold.

Then it reversed: strikes paused into the weekend, and oil plunged Monday, with Brent back to ~$92 and WTI to ~$85, roughly 5% lower on the day. Prices remain well below the war’s ~$120 peak, and a risk premium is still embedded, but the acute phase eased as fast as it flared.

US 2Y yield

US 2Y yields closed near 4.33%, their highest level since early 2025, after a sharp selloff driven largely by the oil spike. The 2Y briefly reached 4.37%, the 10Y approached 4.7%, and the 30Y touched 5.19%. Similar moves were seen globally as investors priced in higher energy-driven inflation.

However, much of that repricing was tied to an oil shock that has already started to reverse, with Brent falling back toward $92. As a result, the latest yield levels may overstate current macro pressure, especially if oil continues to decline heading into the Fed meeting.

BTC/NQ ratio

BTC/NQ ratio: a fourth consecutive week of crypto outperforming equities. IMPROVING. The standout, and increasingly hard to dismiss as noise. Four straight weeks of relative strength through a period in which liquidity contracted, yields hit multi-year highs, and the dollar firmed. Whatever is bidding crypto is not coming from the macro backdrop.

The weekly close was risk-negative: e 2Y yield hit cycle highs, but largely driven by a temporary oil scare that is already fading.

The key takeaway is that rates caused most of the pressure and are also the most likely factor to reverse if oil keeps falling. Meanwhile, crypto remained resilient, outperforming equities for a fourth straight week despite the macro volatility.

Token Price Movers - Observations, not trade ideas.

Liquity – LQTY . Liquity’s BOLD stablecoin grows and yields across BOLD-based products move above 10% APR. The key development is that Liquity V2 directs protocol revenue back into the BOLD ecosystem, creating a closer link between borrowing activity, protocol revenue, and stablecoin yields; recent strength in LQTY may reflect growing market attention to that dynamic rather than the yield alone.

Ondo — ONDO . Ondo’s SEC-registered broker-dealer, Oasis Pro Markets, secured authorization to offer tokenized equities and funds to US investors under SEC and FINRA oversight. Ondo Stocks is already the largest tokenized securities platform, with $20B+ in cumulative volume, and the US was the missing market. Landed in a week tokenized holders passed one million and BNY moved toward 24/7 tokenized Treasury settlement. post

Fluid — FLUID Launched Liquidity as a Service on July 23, managing DEX liquidity for stablecoin and RWA issuers using its own capital, with no inventory or impermanent loss for the issuer. A day later, a governance proposal appeared for a partnership with AGI3, the digital-asset arm of Dubai’s Kinetic Group, which would build permissioned institutional markets on Fluid and see Kinetic buy up to 10% of FLUID supply. Note it hasn’t passed governance yet. LaaS

1inch — 1INCH Teased a product where tokens stay in the user’s wallet until a swap fills. No date or specs yet, so this is anticipation pricing.4B. TVL Gainers ($50M+ filter)

1B. Crypto Capital On-Ramp

Total stablecoin supply 7d change (level + WoW)

Total stablecoin supply: +$0.171B (+0.05%). FLAT. A marginal return to inflow after last week’s $1.17B contraction, but the number is small enough to read as neutral. The base has now alternated between positive and negative prints for six straight weeks without establishing a direction.

Weekly ETF flows - Ethereum outpaced Bitcoin, for a second straight week.

Spot ETFs took in $103.8M on Ethereum against $33.9M on Bitcoin for July 20–26, with Solana flat. Ethereum drawing three times Bitcoin’s inflow is rare, and two consecutive weeks of it is the part worth flagging. For most of 2026 the ETF complex has been a Bitcoin story with Ethereum as an afterthought, usually negative. That has now inverted.

1C. Week-Ahead Catalysts

FOMC decision, July 28–29. The dominant event, and one of the least predictable meetings in years. The committee is roughly split, markets price a ~36% chance of a hike, and Warsh has given no forward guidance about which way he leans. Because there is no guidance to anchor expectations, the reaction function is unusually wide in both directions, and the press conference matters as much as the decision.

PCE inflation, end of week. The Fed’s preferred gauge, landing days after the decision. June CPI came in cool, but this print starts to capture the renewed energy move, making it the first real test of whether the oil shock is feeding into core inflation.

Section 2 — Onchain Risk Regime

IIndividual Stablecoins Flows

The transactional giants turned positive.

USDT added $227.8M and USDC $186.5M, the first week both have grown together in over a month. Against 30-day context the turn is early rather than established, with USDT still down $1.80B and USDC $187M on the month, but the direction changed and they led the table.

USDGO extended its run, up $106.9M (+10.68%), now +46.2% over 30 days and the fastest-growing dollar in the set for a fourth straight week. USDG added $77.8M (+13.0% on the month) as the Global Dollar rail keeps compounding, and YLDS jumped 7.26%.

The Treasury-yield tier kept draining, and the 30-day numbers are severe. USDtb fell $99.7M on the week, down 58.4% over 30 days. USDS shed $52.0M, down 17.5% on the month. USDe is off 11.0% and USYC 4.1% over the same window. PYUSD posted the largest single weekly outflow at $214.7M.

The composition: Capital is leaving parked, conservative yield instruments and showing up in transactional dollars, which is what deployable capital looks like ahead of being put to work.

Aave / Sphere Rates

Funding dropped to 4.06%, down 0.15% on the week, and is now below the 4.28% borrow rate for the first time in over a month (supply 3.19%, borrow 4.19%). This is the cleanest positive shift in the section.

Funding has run above borrow since late June, which we flagged repeatedly as crowded-long positioning and a reason not to chase. That condition has now cleared, and it cleared while price was rising.

Falling funding into a rising market means the move is being driven by spot demand rather than leveraged longs paying up to hold positions.

ETHBTC vs 20W MA

A fifth consecutive green weekly candle, and the ratio has now cleared its 20-week moving average. After spending three weeks testing the line, ETHBTC has pushed through it, the first sustained reclaim since the downtrend began in the spring.

This is the strongest the ratio has looked all year, and it is not an isolated chart signal. Ethereum ETF inflows outpaced Bitcoin’s three to one this week and last. Institutional allocation, spot accumulation, and relative price strength are now aligned. Since ETHBTC functions as the risk-appetite gauge for the broader alt complex, a confirmed break above the MA is the level that historically opens room for alts to move.

Verdict: Onchain regime — RISK-ON.

Three things changed this week, all in the same direction. Funding reset below borrow, clearing the crowded-long condition that had capped the setup for a month. Transactional dollars turned positive while conservative yield instruments kept draining, which is capital repositioning to be deployed. And ETHBTC broke its 20-week moving average on the fifth straight green week, with ETF and exchange-flow data confirming it.

Section 3 — Chain Comparison

3A. Stablecoin flows by chain — table with 7d flow, 7d %, 30d %

Solana — +$1.19B (+7.54% 7d, +9.47% 30d), to $16.93B

The largest absolute stablecoin inflow this week. The story was two-sided: regulated supply growth and leveraged on-chain demand.

On the supply side, USDGO surpassed $1B in circulation just five months after launching on Solana, while Circle and Tether were largely inactive. This continues Solana’s diversification away from USDC dominance and toward a broader stablecoin mix.

On the demand side, new capital was actively absorbed by yield venues rather than sitting idle. Loopscale — Solana’s fastest-growing fixed-rate lending protocol and Exponent — Solana’s leading fixed-yield and yield-tokenization venue, continued attracting deposits through fixed-yield and looping strategies, reinforcing demand for stablecoin liquidity.

What to watch: Whether USDGO continues gaining share from USDC and whether stablecoin TVL on Loopscale and Exponent keeps expanding. Continued growth would confirm demand is structural rather than incentive-driven.

Robinhood Chain — +$89.8M (+22.82% 7d), to $483.1M stablecoin supply

The second-largest stablecoin inflow came almost entirely from one trade: the Morpho/Ethena USDG lending stack.

Most new supply flowed into a Steakhouse-curated USDG vault on Morpho, supported by Ethena liquidity and Maple’s institutional-credit infrastructure. Despite attention on tokenized equities, lending and looping activity remains the primary driver of both stablecoin growth and TVL.

The setup has attracted capital quickly, but the flow remains concentrated in a single yield structure rather than a diversified ecosystem.

What to watch: Whether Morpho/Ethena TVL continues growing after initial incentives fade. The key durability test is the yield stack, not tokenized-stock adoption.

3B. Structural Shifts - RWA & Institutional DeFi

Key takeaways

• TVL growth is overwhelmingly the Morpho/Ethena lending vault and looping demand — lending & asset management is ~81% of protocol TVL.

• Tokenized-stock contribution remains minimal — roughly 4% of TVL and ~9% of DEX volume, despite the attention.

• The chain’s value is in app-level trading, not base-layer usage; the launchpad lead rotated from Noxa to Pons.RWA perpetuals surpassed crypto perpetuals on Hyperliquid for the first time, driven almost entirely by a single operator focused on tokenized equities. While the milestone is notable, it does not yet represent broad-based market adoption.

Tokenized-equity market cap and transfer volume both reached record levels, while institutional infrastructure continues to move from pilots into production. The week’s counterexample was Goldfinch’s wind-down, highlighting that private-credit risk still matters. The lesson is that collateral quality, duration, and transparency matter more than headline yields.

What to watch: Whether tokenized-equity activity expands beyond a single operator and whether revenue growth across RWA protocols continues to outpace TVL growth.

Robinhood Chain — Structural Shift

The market narrative remains ahead of reality.

Approximately 80% of TVL sits in lending and asset-management protocols, primarily Morpho and Ethena. Tokenized equities account for only a small share of both TVL and trading activity, while memecoins continue to dominate DEX volume.

What stands out is where value accrues. Despite strong chain activity, application-layer businesses are capturing significantly more revenue than the base layer itself. The recent shift from Noxa to Pons as the leading launchpad reinforces that user attention is concentrating around trading venues rather than infrastructure.

What to watch: Whether tokenized-stock activity grows into a meaningful share of TVL and volume. Until then, Robinhood Chain should be viewed primarily as a lending-and-looping ecosystem with a high-velocity trading front end.

BTC/NQ ratio: closed green — crypto outperformed equities again. IMPROVING. The standout. The relative-strength turn isn’t only a crypto-strength story — it’s partly an AI-unwind story.

The semiconductor trade that led equities all year is rolling over: a key chip index has fallen into a bear market, down ~20% from its record, and South Korea’s KOSPI — one of the purest AI proxies — has swung violently, with multiple 6–9% down days as Samsung and SK Hynix sold off despite record earnings.

Why does it matter for crypto?

Total stablecoin supply: −$1.17B WoW (−0.38%). CONTRACTING. The base shrank again, extending the choppy outflow pattern that’s run since late May. Last week’s +$1.05B inflow didn’t hold — the on-ramp is still struggling to sustain positive prints for more than a week at a time. Notably, this contraction happened while price rose, so the week’s strength was not funded by fresh stablecoin capital entering the system.

BTC and ETH Exchange Flows

Ethereum’s exchange flow is the interesting read. Reserves fell sharply through the week even as price climbed toward $1.87K, a steeper drawdown than Bitcoin’s. Coins leaving exchanges into a rising price is accumulation — and on ETH specifically, it’s pronounced enough to be worth flagging quietly alongside the ETHBTC strength in Section 2.

Individual Stablecoins Flows

USDG led again at +$256.2M, extending the Global Dollar rail’s run for a third straight week. The important nuance: this isn’t only yield-farming demand. On Robinhood Chain, USDG is the settlement asset for Lighter and other perps DEXs, so its growth reflects trading activity, not just deposit-chasing — a healthier, stickier form of demand than incentive farming alone.

Meanwhile on outflows:

USDS −$915.2M (−$1.31B over 30d), with BUIDL −$250.2M and USDtb −$273.4M. On the surface that looks bearish, but these three are the market’s conservative-yield instruments — USDS for the ~3.5% sUSDS savings rate, BUIDL and USDtb for Treasury yield.

Capital leaving the safest, lowest-return dollars is a mild risk-on signal — money stepping out of parked-and-earning positions rather than fleeing the system. USDC (−$75.1M) and USDT (−$108.7M) were modestly negative, consistent with the total-supply contraction in 1B.

Aave / Sphere Rates

Sphere rates: funding 6.42%, +0.04% — essentially flat but still elevated, and well above the 4.12% borrow rate (supply 3.12%). Both borrow and supply ticked down slightly. So funding is holding high while lending rates soften — leverage stays expensive and crowded.

ETH to BTC Comparison

ETHBTC: closed +0.11%, a third consecutive green weekly candle, now sitting right on / just above the 20W MA. For the 3rd consecutive week, ETH outperformed Bitcoin. Giving room for alts to rise.

$14.01B, +$137.1M (7d, +0.99%), −$279.2M (30d). Growth is reallocation, not net inflow. Kamino’s curated vaults (Steakhouse ~7.4%, RockawayX ~5.9%) keep drawing deposits, while the base lending market shrinks.

Curated Yield Vaults on Kamino

Curated lending and looping venues on Solana continue to attract deposits over the trailing 30 days. This is distinct from the chain-level supply metric above — it measures protocol deposits, not total on-chain stablecoin issuance:

OnRe raised its ONyc supply cap 25M on July 17 and filled it immediately — loop APYs run 18–22%, or up to ~31% via Exponent’s fixed-rate PT-ONyc.

In parallel, Loopscale added new round of incentive for USDC lending to OnRe market.

Robinhood Chain’s tracked stablecoin market capitalization is $393.4M, up 31.33% (+$93.8M) over 7 days. A 30-day comparison is not applicable: the chain launched July 1, 2026, and the 30-days-prior reading predates its existence. USDG, the chain’s native stablecoin, increased from $204.6M to $295.5M over the period (+$90.8M); USDe added $3.0M.

Incentive Structure — the Merkl-Boosted Morpho USDG Market

Growth is almost entirely USDG, up from $204.6M to $295.5M, pulled in by a Merkl-boosted Morpho vault paying roughly 7% total (1.6% native lending plus a 5.4% incentive, paid in steakUSDG) — and the campaign has close to a year of runway left, which reads as a durable subsidy rather than a short-term push.

The vault also accepts USDe, syrupUSDG, and spUSDG as collateral against USDG borrowing, so each of those assets is being pulled in as looping collateral alongside direct deposits.

Monad

Aave V3 — Merkl Supply Incentives Compressing the Cost of Leverage

Aave V3 launched on Monad on July 2, 2026, backed by a combined $15.5M incentive commitment from the Monad Foundation and Aave DAO. The initial market listed USDT0, USDC, GHO, USDe, mUSD, AUSD, WETH, cbBTC, wstETH, weETH, syrupUSDC, and sUSDe. Aave V3’s TVL on Monad is $262.6M (insufficient history for a 30-day comparison).

Ethena — USDe Expansion, Liquid Leverage, and LP Seeding

USDe launched on Monad in the last 7 days, rising from near-zero to $17.2M in tracked market capitalization, bridged via Stargate and enabled as Aave collateral for recursive borrowing. This is paired with Ethena’s Liquid Leverage program — the mechanism previously deployed on Ethereum mainnet, maintaining a 50/50 USDe/sUSDe collateral mix to offset the 7-day sUSDe unstaking constraint and target a blended yield approximating a full sUSDe position — now extended to Monad. The live Merkl campaign for it:

• “Lend USDe on Aave (looping required)” — part of Ethena’s Liquid Leverage program, with Merkl as distribution partner in collaboration with the ACI.

3B. Structural Shifts- DEX Volumes

Robinhood Chain is the loudest narrative in crypto this week by every attention metric we track. On-chain, the picture splits: top-five DEX volume built on a gas subsidy and a memecoin launchpad cycle, a lending core that is genuinely organic, and a tokenized-RWA flagship that remains a rounding error.

This section separates what the market is farming, what it is trading, and where it is positioning with sticky capital.

Robinhood Chain’s dominance is manufactured, but not empty.

A 90-day zero-gas subsidy (through September 29) combined with a memecoin launchpad cycle produced roughly $5.25B in 7-day DEX volume, briefly landing the chain in the top five by that metric. But the chain earns only ~$4,000/day in actual protocol fees against 7.6M daily transactions — a 16–33x gap between chain-level and app-level fees that shows almost all economic value is being captured by trading apps, not the chain itself.

The memecoin engine was CASHCAT, launched July 7–8, which peaked near a $226M market cap before falling ~70%; on its peak day it alone generated ~$98M in volume, about 17% of the entire chain’s total.

Its launchpad, NOXA, deployed the majority of all tokens on the chain, out-earned Pump.fun in fees for five straight days, then halted launches citing bot spam — and its successors haven’t replicated the traction.

Robinhood Chain: Anatomy of Manufactured Dominance

Launched July 1, 2026 as an Arbitrum Orbit L2 (ETH gas token, with 10% of net protocol fees routed back to the Arbitrum ecosystem), Robinhood Chain compressed a full launch-chain cycle into three weeks: vertical volume ramp, memecoin mania, launchpad collapse, and decay — all running on subsidized rails.

The subsidy distortion

Robinhood is covering gas for all Robinhood Wallet swaps above $5 through September 29, 2026. The result is a chain that processed 7.6M transactions in a single day while generating roughly $4,000 in daily protocol fees (July 10–11). The persistent gap between chain-level fees and app-level fees — roughly 16–33x depending on the window — confirms that nearly all economic value is captured by the trading applications, not the chain’s own infrastructure. Every volume and activity figure in the table above is running on subsidized rails.

Beneath the noise, locked capital tells a different story than volume does. Morpho Blue lending holds ~$150M — roughly 65% of chain TVL — well ahead of Uniswap (~$61M), Arcus (~$17M), and NOXA (~$6M).

Robinhood Earn routes up to 7% APY on USDG through Morpho, and Ethena reportedly seeded ~$50M into a Steakhouse-curated USDG vault. Lending capital seeking structured yield is the most durable conviction signal on the chain today.

02 · The RWA Reality Check

Robinhood Chain was built, per its own leadership, to prove the tokenized real-world-asset thesis. Three weeks in, the evidence points the other way on every axis.

Scale: the flagship is a rounding error

Arcus — the zero-fee tokenized-stock DEX built by dYdX Labs with Robinhood Crypto, offering ~95 tokenized stocks spot and 35 RWA perps (still waitlisted) — accounts for well under 1% of chain DEX volume.

Total tokenized-stock holdings on the chain sit near $12.8M: roughly $10.7M in stocks, the remainder in commodities and ETFs, and about $410K in Treasuries. At CASHCAT’s peak, a single cat memecoin was worth more than every tokenized RWA on the chain combined, by an order of magnitude. In the meanwhile, the perps volume is much smaller.

Uniswap is the largest DEX on Robinhood at the moment, and most of the trading volume is from memecoin, instead of tokenized stocks.

Structure: these are not equities

Robinhood’s Stock Tokens are debt instruments issued by Robinhood Assets Jersey Ltd. Holders receive price exposure but no shareholder or voting rights. The product is unavailable in the US, Canada, and the UK, and is live in 120+ other countries. The Bank of Lithuania — Robinhood’s lead EU regulator — is investigating the EU Stock Token structure, with particular attention to the OpenAI and SpaceX tokens (OpenAI publicly disavowed the product) and to consumer communications; the SEC flagged the structure for scrutiny in January 2026.

Competition: the category already has a leader

Solana handled approximately 96% of all on-chain tokenized-equity spot volume in June 2026 — ~$3.47B in a single month, with cumulative tokenized-stock volume of ~$51.7B out of ~$53.5B across all chains — and surpassed 300,000 RWA holders in early July. The tokenized-equity trade the Robinhood narrative describes is already happening at scale, on a different chain.

03 · Cross-Market Conviction Map

Ranking this week’s competing narratives on hard metrics — fees, sticky TVL, open interest, bot-adjusted users — against social reach, and explicitly separating farmed attention from organic positioning:

Hyperliquid — structural conviction

Record open interest (~$11.07B), RWA perps at an all-time high ~$3.6B (a third of OI), over $1.15B in cumulative revenue with ~99% of fees funding HYPE buybacks, and ~$170M in ETF inflows. Real fees, no subsidy.

Zcash / privacy — rotational conviction

The week's strongest social numbers and sector rotation, backed by Multicoin accumulation and privacy-regulation catalysts — but analysts read it as narrative repricing, not usage growth. ZEC is up ~2x over 30 days.

Robinhood Chain — farmed attention

The Equity Tie-In: HOOD Into July 29

The stock is down ~11% over two weeks after rallying into the chain launch — its rally predated the chain, then reversed as on-chain activity peaked, so the “chain hype → stock rally” story doesn’t hold up cleanly. Q2 earnings (July 29) are the first report with live chain data; as of now, chain fees are immaterial to revenue — this is optionality, not an earnings driver.

What would change the call:

The September 29 subsidy expiry (does volume/TVL hold once gas isn’t free), the July 29 earnings print, RWA holdings breaking above ~$50M, and whether any post-NOXA launchpad sustains deployments. Until then, every Robinhood Chain metric is provisional.

Net liquidity: ~$5.98T, +$118.9B WoW (+2.03%). SUPPORTIVE. The largest weekly expansion in months, pushing liquidity back above its moving average. This is the strongest lever crypto has right now, and it explains why the tape held firm through a week of rising yields.

US 2Y yield

US 2Y yield: closed last week at ~4.21%, another grind higher — and it has already added +1.5% to 4.275% this week. TIGHTENING. Two main forces are pushing this: the June FOMC minutes showed officials increasingly concerned about inflation, with markets now pricing at least one hike by year-end, and the collapse of the Iran ceasefire has put oil back into the inflation equation. Rates are no longer consolidating; they are trending up.

Composite: DIVERGING, and rates are winning.

Liquidity expanded sharply while the front end tightened — the two levers pulling directly against each other. Liquidity carried the week, but the 2Y is now trending higher into a live geopolitical escalation, which makes it the dominant force going forward.

The blockade is back, and oil is repricing the war.

Trump reinstated the US blockade of Iranian ships transiting the Strait of Hormuz and demanded a 20% reimbursement on all cargo shipped through the waterway, declaring the US its “guardian” and posting that the strait “will remain OPEN, with or without Iran.”

Iranian vessels are blocked from entering or leaving; everyone else pays the toll. The White House has not explained how the fee would be administered or whether it was communicated to Gulf allies.

The market read it immediately: Brent has surged toward $85, after closing last week near $76.6 and bottoming around $72 in June. Oil spiking is the war signal, and it is the transmission channel into everything else — a toll on a fifth of the world’s seaborne oil is an inflation tax, whoever imposes it.

The critical difference from June: this disruption is US-imposed. Through late June the oil was flowing — CENTCOM escorted more than 800 vessels and 380 million barrels through the strait since early May, and prices had fallen back to pre-war levels. The blockade is what re-armed the supply risk, not an Iranian closure.

And Iran regards any challenge to its authority in the strait as a breach of the interim peace agreement, which raises the odds of renewed attacks on commercial vessels — the escalation loop that took Brent past $100 in the spring.

The contradiction to watch: they are still talking. The strikes, the blockade and the toll are happening alongside an active negotiation track. That is why oil is at $85 and not $110 — the market is pricing a bargaining tactic, not a collapse. It also means the tail is fat in both directions: a deal collapses this into a relief rally, a tanker attack takes it the other way. There is no stable middle.

1B. Crypto Capital On-Ramp

Unlike last week’s rally — which we flagged as leverage-led, running on no fresh capital — new dollars are now actually entering the system. That’s the missing ingredient showing up.

BTC and ETH Exchange Flows (Net Reserve, NOT net flows per day)

Exchange flows — accumulation on both assets. Bitcoin reserves fell to ~2.711M and are now below the 21-day average, meaning coins left exchanges through the week even as price held around $62–64K.

Ethereum is the stronger signal: reserves dropped sharply from ~15.55M to ~15.40M, a steep decline, and it happened while ETH rallied to ~$1.78K. Price up plus reserves down is the textbook accumulation setup — buyers taking coins off exchanges into strength rather than selling into it. Both charts point the same way, and it’s the cleanest exchange-flow read we’ve had in weeks.

ETF flows

ETF flows — the streak broke and the bid returned. Inflows totaled $510M across three consecutive sessions in early July, ending the 10-day, $2.73B outflow run. July 6 alone drew $265.7M, with BlackRock’s IBIT taking $209.4M and Ethereum ETFs adding $20.7M. The composition matters — IBIT leading is the institutional signal, not retail dip-buying. Some analysts read it as capital rotating out of an overheated AI trade back into oversold crypto ETFs.

Onchain Regime read - Improving

For the first time in months, the three capital-ramp signals — stablecoin supply, exchange reserves, and ETF flows — are all pointing the same direction, and it’s up. This is the real story of the week: the macro backdrop deteriorated (rates up, dollar up, crypto lagging tech), yet the money actually moving into crypto turned positive.

June CPI — Tuesday, July 14. The single most important print on the calendar, and it lands tomorrow. ING expects headline prices to fall month-on-month on the plunge in gasoline prices, which could push markets toward pricing a long Fed pause rather than a hike this year.

But the 30-day picture shows how thin that turn is: USDT is still −$2.60B and USDC −$1.49B over 30 days. So this is week one of a reversal, not a trend. USDC did the real work; USDT’s +$25M is a rounding error on a $185B base. Treat it as stabilization, not re-acceleration.

BUIDL is the week’s story, and it’s a step change. BlackRock’s tokenized Treasury fund added +$640.9M in seven days — against +$663M over thirty. Effectively the entire monthly gain landed this week.

BUIDL is BlackRock’s USD Institutional Digital Liquidity Fund, issued by Securitize, backed by cash and short-term US Treasuries, paying daily dividends to holders. It is not a transactional dollar — investors must be verified by Securitize and buy with USDC.

Two distinct uses drive it: institutions parking idle cash onchain to earn Treasury yield, and — increasingly — posting it as trading collateral. BUIDL is accepted as collateral on Binance (off-exchange), Deribit, and Crypto.com, letting institutional traders margin leveraged positions while still earning yield on the asset. As Securitize’s CEO put it, the fund is evolving from a yield token into market infrastructure.

Aave / Sphere Rates

Funding ticked down from the top. The current funding benchmark sits at 5.90%, −0.23% on the week — the first decline after four straight weeks of climbing. But the level is what counts: at 5.90% versus a 4.28% borrow rate (supply 3.28%), funding remains well above borrow.

Leverage is still expensive and perps are still crowded long. The marginal cooling is healthy — froth easing rather than building — but the caution flag from last week stands. This is a market where longs are still paying up.

ETH/BTC Comparison Chart

ETHBTC closed +0.9% last week, the 2nd consecutive green weekly candle and a continuation of the strongest stretch of ETH outperformance against BTC in months. Right now, the candle is testing right at the 20-week moving average — the first time the ratio has reached that line since the downtrend began in the spring.

Verdict: Onchain regime — IMPROVING

With real capital behind it. Unlike last week’s leverage-only bounce, the flows are now genuine: supply expanded, USDC turned positive, BUIDL drew $640M, and reserves fell on both majors. The caveat is unchanged — funding still sits above borrow, and BUIDL’s inflow may itself be financing that leverage.

Section 3 — Chain Comparison

3A. Stablecoin flows by chain

The week's dominant theme was RWA tokenization, which surfaced across stablecoin flows, derivatives positioning, and protocol growth. The key catalyst was Securitize's July 2 NYSE listing, accompanied by the tokenization of roughly $295M of SECZ equity on Solana and Avalanche. At the same time, BlackRock's BUIDL expanded rapidly on Avalanche, helping drive one of the largest capital inflows of the week.

Stablecoin supply rose $1.14B (+0.37%) to $311.7B, while DeFi TVL remained largely flat at $73.6B. The largest flows were a roughly $2B USDT migration from Ethereum to Tron, but this was issuer-driven treasury management rather than organic demand.

Meanwhile, leveraged yield structures continued to contract. Ethena USDe (-$488M), the Sky/Spark ecosystem (~-$1.05B combined), and MegaETH (-$496M stablecoins) all saw significant outflows, suggesting capital continues rotating out of incentive-driven yield strategies and into institutional products.

Monad: +$40.3M (+8.3%) — an incentivized Aave V3 launch converting subsidies into a stablecoin-looping venue.

The inflow is modest relative to the catalyst behind it. Aave launched V3.7 on Monad on July 2 and surpassed $100M in deposits within 48 hours, backed by a major incentive package: $15M in Monad liquidity incentives, a 10M GHO commitment from the Monad Foundation, and 500K GHO from Aave DAO.

The opportunity is clear. Merkl rewards currently boost supply yields to roughly 14.4% on USDC, 6.7% on USDT0, 8.1% on AUSD, and 7.3% on GHO, creating borrowing costs below comparable Ethereum and L2 markets. This has attracted leveraged farmers using assets such as syrupUSDC and sUSDe as collateral, borrowing subsidized stablecoins and looping positions to capture both collateral yield and WMON emissions.

Tron & Ethereum: ~$2B USDT Reallocation

Tron gained $2.3B while Ethereum lost $2.1B, largely due to a coordinated Tether treasury operation. Tether burned roughly $2.5B USDT on Ethereum and later minted $1B on Tron, shifting supply toward its preferred payments rail.

For traders, the more important signal is that Ethereum USDC still grew by $361M, suggesting this was a stablecoin composition shift rather than capital leaving Ethereum altogether. The trend modestly strengthens Tron’s settlement dominance while slightly reducing Ethereum’s USDT collateral base.

Spotlight · Robinhood Chain

The constructive case is early participation in a distribution-rich, regulated-brand ecosystem: alarge existing customer base, tokenized equities across more than 120 markets, established protocols already deployed, and a yield structure combining USDG rewards, Ethena-linked returns, and Lighter points, with a potential future token as optionality.

The offsetting risks are specific: headline metrics are incentive-inflated; the airdrop thesis is unconfirmed; the network operates on a single Robinhood-run sequencer; and stock tokens are unavailable in the United States, the company’s home market.

The relevant precedent appears in Section 3: MegaETH’s stablecoin base contracted by approximately 80% this week — roughly two months after its token generation event — when leveraged liquidity routed through Aave withdrew.

Robinhood Chain’s $294.6M of stablecoins resting above $161M of deployed TVL has a comparable bootstrap profile. The appropriate framing is incentive-dependent early positioning with a defined view on the token and incentive timeline, rather than a durable allocation.

3B. Structural Shifts- DEX Volumes

Robinhood Chain remains the week's dominant launch venue.

On the yield side, Robinhood Earn routes USDG deposits into Steakhouse-curated Morpho vaults with projected yields around 7%, positioning Morpho as a core piece of the chain's financial stack. Morpho Blue's fees rose 143.8% WoW to $11.4M, reinforcing the shift toward curated-vault lending models even as Aave tightened risk parameters through supply- and borrow-cap reductions.

Trading activity tells the same story. Robinhood Wallet users can earn 2x Lighter points against an 11M LIT allocation, creating a direct incentive to trade on-chain. Speculative attention remains concentrated in Robinhood Chain memecoins, led by CASHDOG and CASHCAT, though the chain's elevated volume-to-liquidity ratio highlights the risks of chasing launch-phase momentum.

The venue impact is already visible in DEX flows. Uniswap V3 volume rose 79% WoW and V2 volume jumped 1,003%, with Robinhood Chain accounting for the majority of V2 activity and more than half of V3's volume. More important than launch-week volume, however, is governance: on July 8, Uniswap advanced a proposal to extend the UNIfication buyback-and-burn mechanism to V4 pools, a development worth tracking as fee generation increasingly shifts toward newer deployments.

RWA Derivatives: Positioning Is Catching Up To The Narrative

The strongest conviction trade this week was RWA-linked derivatives. Ostium’s open interest climbed 73.8% WoW to $285.5M, alongside 31.1% TVL growth, while Ondo Perps added 42.6% to reach $26M in open interest.

What’s notable is that this growth aligns with the broader tokenization story discussed elsewhere in the report. Product issuance, capital inflows, and trader positioning are all moving in the same direction. Rather than RWA enthusiasm being confined to treasury funds, traders are increasingly expressing that view through leveraged products.

Perpetuals activity overall remains concentrated on Hyperliquid, which continues to host roughly $15B of open interest across Hyperliquid Perps and tradeXYZ, despite softer fee generation during the week.

Section 4 — Project & Protocol Discovery

4A. Token Price Movers - Observations, not trade ideas.

edgeX — EDGE, +29% (7d). A cluster of product news: a restructuring adding engineering, risk, and product hires; a roadmap toward RWA trading pairs and leveraged ETFs, and a native USDC deposit campaign paying 4% APR in USDC plus 3% in EDGE. Incentive-led as much as fundamental.

Lido — LDO, +10% (7d). wstETH is now live on Robinhood Chain via Chainlink CCIP, carrying its Ethereum staking rewards across, with direct staking and deeper integrations flagged as next. Distribution into Robinhood’s retail base.

Uniswap — UNI, +13% (7d). The clearest read on Robinhood Chain’s traction: Uniswap crossed $250M+ in protocol volume there within a week of launch, then did $500M in a single day — 10x the prior day, and more than any chain except Ethereum mainnet. BTC/NQ ratio

BTC/NQ ratio: first meaningful green candle since early March. IMPROVING — the highlight. This is the week’s standout. After months of crypto underperforming tech, the ratio finally turned up, and the driver is exactly the divergence in Key Drivers: crypto rallied on the dovish jobs data while the Nasdaq sold off on the AI/chip unwind. It’s the first real sign since March that capital is rotating back toward crypto relative to equities — one candle, not yet a trend, but a genuine shift in direction.

The jobs report cracked the hawkish narrative.

June nonfarm payrolls rose just 57K versus ~115K expected, with April and May revised down by 74K combined. Although unemployment dipped to 4.2%, it was driven by labor-force participation falling to its lowest level since March 2021, while the household survey showed 507K fewer people employed.

The weak labor data eased pressure on the Fed, pushed Treasury yields and the dollar lower, and prompted markets to price out a September rate hike—providing the liquidity tailwind crypto had been waiting for. ETF flows

ETF flows — still negative, but sharply improving. Spot ETFs saw Bitcoin −$231M, Ethereum −$29.9M, and Solana +$5.5M for June 29–July 5 — still a net outflow, but a fraction of last week’s −$2.06B, and the 10-day, $2.7B outflow streak broke mid-week with a +$222M inflow on July 2. The first real sign institutional selling is abating, with Solana back to small inflows.

1C. Week-Ahead Catalysts

June CPI — Tuesday, July 14. The soft-labor read means little if inflation stays hot — a cool CPI extends the relief rally and cements the “hikes are off the table” case; a hot one revives them and likely reverses this week’s move.

Section 2 — Onchain Risk Regime

Individual Stablecoins Flows

USDGO added $113.7M (+15.24%), the fastest-growing dollar in the set for a second consecutive week, driven by yield-farming incentives. Note that USDGO is a separate, newer token from Paxos’ USDG, the stablecoin Robinhood integrated — different issuers and different products, despite the similar tickers.

Robinhood’s chain is integrating USDG as one of its main transactional stablecoin. BUIDL (BlackRock) added +$42.9M and AUSD +$8.9M (+4.89%), the tokenized-yield tier quietly compounding.

The drain, again, is the transactional and the recently-hot: USDT −$1.67B and USDC −$713M led the outflows — the same two giants behind the total-supply contraction in Section 1 — while RLUSD −$186M (−11.65%) and USDS −$267M gave back ground.

Aave / Sphere Rates

Funding crossed above the borrow rate: 6.28% vs 4.23% (supply 3.20%). The four-week climb completed — leverage longs are now expensive, perps are relatively crowded with longs. Historically, funding above borrow is a caution, not a buy: it shows up after a bounce, not before one. Read it as “don’t chase” — the rally is leverage-led, not spot-led.

ETHBTC vs 20W MA

ETHBTC printed its biggest green weekly candle in months, pushing back up toward its 20-week moving average after months of grinding lower. ETH outperformed BTC (the +5% sessions during the jobs-data rally), and because ETHBTC is a rough risk-appetite gauge for the whole alt complex, a move this size gives alts room to run.

It’s still testing the 20W MA rather than clearing it, so it’s not yet a confirmed regime change — but it’s the most convincing step toward one since the spring.

Verdict: Onchain regime — IMPROVING, but leverage-led.

The constructive signals are real: ETHBTC’s strongest candle in months points to alts getting room, and the price tone flipped up with macro. But the composition is the catch — funding crossed above the borrow rate (a historically cautionary, crowded-long reading), and stablecoin supply is still contracting, so the bounce is running on leverage rather than fresh spot capital. A real improvement in direction, but a crowded one: alts have room, yet the setup rewards patience over chasing.

Section 3 — Chain Comparison

3A. Stablecoin flows by chain

DefiLlama’s raw chain-level stablecoin rankings for the week showed dramatic movement — Polygon appearing to add $1.64B (+14.5%), Plasma appearing to shed 18% of its base.

Almost none of that is real dollar flow. It is a byproduct of summing stablecoin token units across currencies with wildly different per-unit values — yen-pegged JPYC and lira-pegged TRYB alongside dollar stablecoins — which turns a modest local mint or burn into an apparently enormous headline number.

After deduplicating and re-denominating every mover to actual USD value, the picture is far more modest: most “gainer” and “loser” chains moved single-digit percentages.

Two stories survive scrutiny as genuine, dated events: Ripple’s deliberate rebalancing of RLUSD issuance from Ethereum toward the XRP Ledger, and Hyperliquid’s coordinated wind-down of its native USDH stablecoin in favor of USDC. Everything else in this week’s raw rankings is better read as issuance mechanics, incentive-driven float, or measurement artifact rather than organic demand growth.

Monad: Aave V3 Incentive-Subsidized Borrow Costs Keep Lending Yield Attractive

Monad’s stablecoin lending market benefits from the combination of Aave v3’s recent deployment on the chain alongside syrupUSDC’s presence on the same chain. Live Merkl incentive rewards on Aave v3 Monad for USDT, USDC, and AUSD supply are currently helping to keep borrowing costs low, which in turn supports attractive economics for syrupUSDC lending on top of that base. Average stablecoin lending APY on Aave v3 Monad is currently running approximately 5–6% with the max syrupUSDC loop ROE ~20%.

Robinhood Chain: The Morpho Vault Behind Robinhood Earn’s Yield

The relevant venue here is the Morpho vault underlying Robinhood Earn. Users can post syrupUSDG, USDe, or spUSDG as collateral to borrow USDG from that market and loop the position for amplified yield. Separately, users can supply USDG directly through the Robinhood app into the same vault for a simpler, unlevered 7% APY.

Collateral-side yields are currently: syrupUSDG approximately 4.6%, USDe approximately 4.5%, and spUSDG approximately 4.2%. Return on equity for the looped strategy is currently in the 15–20% range, reflecting the spread between the 7% USDG supply rate and the sub-5% cost of the collateral assets used to borrow against, before accounting for looping leverage.

Polygon: The Headline Number Was Almost Entirely a Currency-Unit Artifact

Polygon topped the raw gainer list at +$1.64B (+14.5% week-on-week) — a number that does not survive contact with the underlying token-level data.

The real driver was a single JPYC mint on June 30 that moved supply from 2.27B to 3.07B units in one day — a step change in unit count, not organic growth. At roughly $0.006 per unit, that ~800M-unit mint is worth approximately $4.9M, not the billions implied by summing raw token counts across currencies with different face values.

Once re-denominated to USD and deduplicated for tokens double-counted under two parallel identifiers, Polygon’s actual weekly picture is: USDC +$50.4M (+2.8%), USDT +$9.3M (+1.0%), JPYC +$4.9M, offset by DAI −$33.2M (−5.5%) — for net real growth of approximately +$28M, roughly 1.7% of the originally reported figure.

Polygon does have a live payments narrative in the background — Visa’s multi-chain stablecoin settlement pilot and Polygon’s “Open Money Stack” rollout both fall in or near this window — but no source ties either directly to this week’s USDC or JPYC movement. Treat that context as background, not a confirmed catalyst for this specific week’s number, pending a dedicated check.

Ethereum & XRP Ledger: One Confirmed Rebalancing Story, One Broad Retreat

The market had speculated that Ripple was deliberately shifting RLUSD issuance away from Ethereum toward its native ledger. That story checks out — and independent verification adds useful precision the original data pull didn’t have.

Ethereum’s broad retreat (−$5.17B weekly decline) is confirmed as spread across USDT (−$991M), USDC (−$726M), USDS (−$254M), USDTB (−$184M), and USD1 (−$151M) — a market-wide stablecoin pullback on Ethereum, not a single-issuer event. RLUSD’s contribution to that Ethereum decline is a real but small share of the total move.

The RLUSD/XRPL flip is confirmed, with an important nuance the original draft didn’t capture: it is substantially engineered, not organically driven. RLUSD crossed over to hold a larger balance on XRPL than on Ethereum for the first time around June 24–25. But Ripple burned approximately $539M of RLUSD across both chains over the trailing month, and roughly 75% of that burn came off Ethereum specifically — meaning the “flip” happened predominantly because Ripple drained the Ethereum side, not because new external dollars arrived on XRPL.

RLUSD’s total supply is actually down roughly 11% from its early-June peak near $1.8B. The timing lines up with two regulatory catalysts: RLUSD’s Japan launch with SBI Group (June 24, pending JFSA approval) and a preliminary MiCA CASP license from Luxembourg (June 23) — both plausible motivations for Ripple to consolidate issuance on its own ledger ahead of new regulated distribution.

3B. Structural Shifts- DeFi Categories by TVL

The week’s onchain activity reflected price appreciation and isolated deals rather than broad structural conviction.

Perpetuals contracted sector-wide, with 19 of the top 30 venues down over 30 days and the three largest — Hyperliquid, Aster, and Lighter — negative on both fees and volume.

Lending TVL growth was largely a function of ETH’s 12.4% weekly move: every major lender except Dolomite grew less than collateral appreciation alone would predict, implying deposits likely fell in unit terms.

The genuine strength was concentrated in institutional credit. Centrifuge (+317% weekly fees) closed a Kraken Custody integration for its Janus Henderson CLO fund and brought a New York Life fixed-income strategy onchain; Maple (+107%) closed its warehouse facility with Kraken; and Spiko (+692%) launched its Solana fund with Coinbase’s stablecoin rails. All three are dated, verified transactions — though together the three protocols hold under 17% of RWA TVL, a cluster rather than a wave. Maple is the one name in the dataset where fundamentals are outrunning the token.

Price vs. Fundamentals: Where the Gap Is Widest:

The widest gap between price and fundamentals is in HYPE, up 15% while Hyperliquid’s fees decline 10%.

A positive divergence indicates the token price is outpacing underlying protocol fee generation; a negative divergence indicates fees are outpacing price. Maple is the one case in this table where the fundamentals are outrunning the token price — in every other row, the price is ahead of what the underlying business is currently doing.

US 2Y yield: 4.10%, −1.99% WoW. EASING — the week’s relief. After spiking to roughly 4.18% on the hawkish FOMC, the 2-year corrected lower this week.

The driver is the inflation outlook flipping forward: May PCE came in hot at 4.1% headline and 3.4% core, both multi-year highs, but it’s widely read as the peak because crude has since collapsed and that disinflation isn’t in the data yet. The front end is beginning to price that the inflation scare rolls over from here.

Still above the 20W MA, so not a regime change — but a genuine relief after weeks of pressure.

BTC/NQ ratio

BTC/NQ ratio: another yearly low. WEAK — crypto-specific. The ratio printed a fresh 2026 low, meaning capital is still rotating toward tech equities over crypto. Even with oil falling and rates easing, crypto is underperforming — pressured by the strong dollar, contracting liquidity, and a second wave of ETF outflows that pulled Bitcoin near $59,400.

Two forces shaped the week. The war kept de-escalating — oil fell again as Gulf supply came back online — while the rate picture stayed the binding constraint, though the front end of the curve finally eased.

The net: macro headwinds are softening at the margin, but crypto isn’t participating. The dollar pushed to another yearly high and crypto printed a fresh relative low against tech.

Supporting context — the war keeps fading

Oil fell again, even through fresh strikes — and that’s the signal. Brent dropped to around $72 on Friday, the lowest since February 27 and a 10%+ weekly fall, as Strait of Hormuz traffic accelerated and Gulf exports recovered to roughly 75% of pre-war levels, with Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Kuwait and Qatar all ramping supply.

The ceasefire is still bumpy — Trump posted that US aircraft struck Iranian missile, drone, and coastal radar sites for again violating the agreement — yet oil traded lower anyway. That falling-oil backdrop is exactly the disinflation the 2-year started to price this week.

A note on Bitcoin’s credit backdrop.

Strategy (MSTR) unveiled a Digital Credit Capital Framework on June 29 — a $2.55B USD reserve (~17 months of preferred-dividend coverage, ~26 months including authorized BTC monetization), a STRC dividend lifted to 12%, and $1B buyback programs for both its digital-credit securities and common stock.

The cause is concentrated in the two transactional giants: USDC bled −$1.11B and USDT −$1.38B, together −$2.49B — essentially the entire weekly drop. When the transactional dollars used for trading and settlement contract this hard in one week, it reads as capital stepping back, in line with the risk-off tape and the price correction. ETF flows

ETF flows — the worst week of the year. Bitcoin −$1.787B, Ethereum −$273.5M, Solana −$1.9M for June 22–28, together roughly −$2.06B — the largest weekly outflow of 2026. This is now the seventh consecutive week of net outflows, and instead of exhausting, the selling accelerated to a yearly extreme. It’s the single biggest drag on the crypto tape this week and the clearest evidence institutional demand is still in retreat, not stabilizing.

soft number would strengthen the case that the labor market is cooling enough to pull the Fed off its hawkish path; a hot one would reinforce the hike pricing that built through June.

Borrow APY 4.01% and supply APY 2.97% were both essentially flat (each +0.01%). The mover, for a third straight week, was funding: the benchmark rose to 2.62% (+0.65%) — its sharpest weekly climb in the series — and is now closing in on the 4.01% borrow rate.

This is the week’s most interesting tension. Funding has now climbed steadily (1.73% → 2.13% → 2.62%) and is heading toward the borrow rate, which means leverage demand is building and longs are being added.

Funding still sits below borrow, so it’s not yet at greedy or crowded levels — but the direction is clear, and, notably, traders are adding leverage into a risk-off tape with crypto at relative lows. Either a contrarian build or early positioning for a turn. Worth flagging that if funding crosses the borrow rate, that’s the signal leverage has tipped from constructive to crowded.

ETHBTC

ETHBTC vs 20W MA — Downtrend stalling. After two green weeks and a marginal red candle (−0.41%), ETHBTC is no longer in the clean downtrend it held through the spring — it’s flattening into consolidation just below its 20-week moving average. Still unconfirmed (under the MA),

but a stalling ETHBTC matters beyond ETH: the ratio is a rough risk-on/off gauge for the whole alt complex, and with Solana already outperforming, a base here gives alts some room to move. Not a turn — but no longer “lower every week,” which is the relief the alt side has been waiting for.
