Updates π°
Shadow Exchange reported its first FeeM rewards distribution, with 27,342 $S claimed. The rewards will be allocated to vote incentives and community rewards. Sonic Labs' Fee Monetization (FeeM) program returns 90% of network fees generated by protocols, with Shadow optimizing rewards through ongoing fee updates and MEV strategies. The platform ranked second in FeeM earnings, reinforcing its trading activity on Sonic.
Aevo introduced Options OTC 2.0, an on-chain OTC desk on Aevo L2, addressing inefficiencies in altcoin options trading. The platform allows users to trade any Aevo-listed asset with custom strikes and expiries (up to 3 months), offering institutional-grade liquidity, zero exchange fees, and instant L2 settlement. It aims to improve asset availability, customizability, and cost-efficiency, providing an alternative to perpetuals by offering embedded leverage without liquidation risk. Traders can use options for speculation or hedging, with examples highlighting strategies for AI tokens and unlock events.
Derive has reduced fees by 50%, making perpetuals and options trading among the lowest in DeFi at 0.01% maker and 0.03% taker fees. Stakers and high-volume traders receive additional discounts, further lowering costs for active participants.
Llamaswap has integrated with Sonic Labs, enabling users to trade directly on the platform. The integration expands Sonic's accessibility within the DeFiLlama ecosystem, offering more routing options for users.
Jumper Exchange is now live on Sonic, enabling users to bridge assets like USDT, USDC, and WETH seamlessly. The integration enhances cross-chain accessibility for Sonic, facilitating smoother asset transfers.
Lido has launched stETH and wstETH on Unichain, a DeFi-native Layer 2 network built on Optimismβs OP Stack. Users can now bridge their assets via Superbridge.app, enabling access to Unichainβs ecosystem of over 80 DeFi protocols. The integration aims to enhance cross-chain liquidity while maintaining Ethereumβs security through permissionless fault proofs.
The deployment was facilitated using Lidoβs Multichain Automaton, ensuring a streamlined and transparent process.
Upcoming β³
KelpDAO has postponed its Token Generation Event (TGE) to March 2025, citing recent adverse market events. An airdrop checker is set to go live next week, followed by a detailed token distribution and unlock schedule. The revised TGE date remains tentative for early March, with confirmed exchange listings to be announced. The team is coordinating with exchange representatives and will address community concerns in an upcoming AMA.
Celo will activate its Ethereum Layer 2 mainnet on March 26, 2025, at 3 AM UTC, marking a major transition for the network. The upgrade, occurring at block height 31,057,000, aims to enhance scalability with 1-second block times, reduce technical debt, and preserve full network history. The migration ensures minimal disruption, requiring only full nodes to upgrade, while enabling trustless upgrades for node operators. The shift positions Celo for improved efficiency and future innovation within the Ethereum ecosystem.
Airdrops πͺ
YieldNest is airdropping tokens to the Taiko community, with allocations based on Taiko Status, which increases by accumulating points through TAIKO token holdings. Users can still qualify by leveling up. The first Taiko Takeoff airdrop provided liquidity providers with 130% APY in under a month. More details on the Taiko Takeoff x YieldNest airdrop are available in the official blog post.
