Today in DeFi - dydx on L2, Balancer + Aave, And More...
dydx on Layer 2
dydx, one of the earliest and most successful order-book DEXes, is now on Layer 2. Scaled using starkware’s zkStarks, the withdrawal times to L1 should be relatively fast, esp. compared to Optimistic rollups.
The new dydx cross-margin perpetuals will feature up to 25x leverage and integrate funding rate arbitrage(!), allowing users to easily earn yield, while helping to move the perp price back to the market price.
The closed alpha is launched now, and public mainnet will come later.
Today in DeFi is sponsored by Aave.
Aave is a decentralised, open-source, and non-custodial liquidity protocol for earning interest on deposits and borrowing assets. It tokenizes deposits as aTokens, which accrue interest in real time. Aave also features access to Flash Loans and Credit Delegation as uncollateralised loan options.
