Genesis Lending Halts Withdrawals

JUST IN: The lending arm of @GenesisTrading plans to halt customer withdrawals. The unit discussed the matter with its institutional customers in a call on Wednesday morning. By @NelWang

trib.alGenesis’ Crypto-Lending Unit Is Halting Customer Withdrawals in Wake of FTX CollapseThe unit, known as Genesis Global Capital, serves an institutional client base and had $2.8 billion in total active loans as of the end of the third quarter of 2022.

As part of the fallout from FTX, Genesis Trading has halted withdrawals of its lending product. This may have ramifications for Gemini’s Earn program, which uses Genesis.
